What is a ProvencePeel
The ProvencePeel is a specially formulated chemical skin peel service provided by select physicians, med spas and laser spas. The ProvencePeel name was inspired by the beauty and elegance of the Provence Region of Southern France. Famous for its copious sunshine, clean rivers, olive groves and fields of lavender, Provence represents the essence of natural beauty.
What are chemical skin peels?
Chemical peels exfoliate the outer layers of dead skin cells and reveal a new skin layer with improved tone, texture and color. Peels take away dead skin cells and compel the generation of new skin, thus eliminating fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots, blotchiness, dryness, acne and a host of other mild skin conditions.
Can I combine a peel with a RevitaLaze℠ Laser Treatment?
Absolutely. This is by far the most effective way to improve your skin’s appearance. A combination program of chemical peels and RevitaLaze℠ Laser Treatments should be customized by your aesthetic specialist after you have undergone a consultation to discuss your skincare concerns and goals.
Does the ProvencePeel™ come in different strengths or formulations?
Qualified providers offer a variety of peels and formulations that are each customized to your skin type and to the condition which is being addressed.
What does a ProvencePeel treatment feel like?
Upon application, clients feel a slight tingling or stinging which subsides after a few minutes.
What can I expect immediately after a treatment?
Your skin will be given a youthful glow. It is not uncommon for people to notice your new texture and compliment it. Immediately following the treatment, your skin may be slightly pink, but nothing drastic. Any redness typically subsides within an hour or two.
Will my skin literally “peel”?
The ProvencePeel removes the outer layers of skin to reduce or eliminate the appearance of a number of skin imperfections and conditions. After a client undergoes a peel, the treated layers of skin gradually flake away, revealing a fresh new layer of skin. Generally, the peeling lasts a few days.
Which type of ProvencePeel is right for me?
Your local qualified skincare specialist can determine which type of skin peel is appropriate for you. In deciding who is a good candidate for an ProvencePeel, they will consider several factors, including the client’s medical history, pigmentation, the skin condition to be treated (especially the extent of sun damage) and the client’s goals.
Can the ProvencePeel be performed on areas other than the face?
Though peels are most commonly used to treat the face and neck, the skin on any part of the body can be treated in this way. As with facial chemical peels, body peels address acne, the effects of sun damage, even out skin pigmentation and improve skin texture. Speak to your qualified provider if you are concerned about areas other than your face and neck.
